Apple launched its latest iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max in the global market including India at its special event, these are the successor of last year’s iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max models, both come with support for 5G. These phones come with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED Super Retina XDR displays and also support for HDR and Dolby Vision. These phones have new Ceramic Shield protection with 4x better drop performance, thanks to a new high-temperature crystallization step that grows nano-ceramic crystals within the glass matrix. Both phones are runs on the latest A14 Bionic 5nm chip with 11.8 billion transistors and a 6-core design and also supports IP68 water resistance (6 meters for up to 30 minutes). The phones have a Textured matt glass back and stainless steel body.
The iPhone 12 Pro has a triple rear camera setup where a 12 MP primary camera along with a 12MP 120° Ultra-Wide camera and a 12 MP 52 mm focal length Telephoto camera for 4x optical zoom. While the iPhone 12 Pro Max features a new f/1.6 aperture Wide camera with a 47% larger sensor with 1.7μm pixels for a massive 87% improvement in low-light conditions. It also includes the expansive Ultra-Wide camera and a 65 mm focal length Telephoto camera for 5x optical zoom. These phones also come with Night mode for all the cameras and there is a new Night mode Time-Lapse mode. Deep Fusion, now better and faster, comes to all cameras, and with the new Smart HDR 3 for more true-to-life images, even in complex scenes.
According to the company, the iPhone 12 Pro models are the first in the world to enable an end-to-end experience for HDR video with Dolby Vision up to 60 fps. These phones also come with a new LiDAR Scanner that gives the ability to measure light distance and use pixel depth information of a scene. This technology delivers faster, more realistic AR experiences and improves autofocus by 6x in low-light scenes for more accuracy and reduced capture time in photos and videos. Combined with the A14 Bionic, this also offers Night mode portraits. Both also have a new MagSafe wireless charging, and according to the rumors, the phones don’t have a charger in the box. The iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max come in Gold, Graphite, Silver, and new Pacific Blue colors.
