Asus' Zenfone series brings the best of both world's, performance and quality. The Zenfone 4 is no exception here. Although equipped with a dual-core Intel Atom processor, it comes with hyper-threading enabled which enables faster multi-processing aided by 1 GB RAM, 4-inch WVGA display clad in Gorilla Glass 3 alongwith a healthy 1600 mAh battery. Karbonn A12 Star is one of the cheapest dual-core 3G smartphones available in the market running Android 4.4 KitKat. It comes with a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 SoC with 512 MB RAM. The XOLO Q1200 comes with the all-so-familiar MediaTek MT6582 SoC with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB RAM and more importantly Mali-400MP2 GPU. There's a 5-inch HD IPS display on board which is one of the best displays I have seen grace this price bracket. But the Q1200 runs a heavily skinned Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which does degrade performance a little bit. Even in benchmarks we found it lag behind the competition with similar specs. Micromax Unite 2 provided the necessary challenge Moto E needed. But both phones are low in stock at the moment, so its still open warfare between the two. The Unite 2 A106 is powered by quad-core MediaTek MT6582M chipset with Mali-400MP2 GPU and 1 GB RAM running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, so spec-wise it certainly has an upper hand. Micromax has given us two options in the same price point the Canvas Elanza 2 A121 and the Canvas 2 Colours A120, the latter of which has already impressed us in its gaming review.
