XOLO Black 1X was launched today at an online event. The Black 1X comes with a 5-inch 1080p display protected by Asahi Dragontrail Glass running on the MediaTek MT6753 octa-core SoC also seen on the Coolpad Note 3 and just like it there's 3GB RAM onboard as well.
Other specs are quite similar too. You have Android 5.1 Lollipop running the show with XOLO's own Hive UI on top. There's a 13MP rear camera here with PDAF, Phase Detection Auto Focus which can focus on an object in about 0.15 seconds. A 5MP front-camera is also available accompanied by a front-facing flash.
The XOLO Black 1X is the second phone in the Black series and doesn't bear much resemblance to its predecessor in terms of design. The original XOLO Black was not that well received given its heating issues, mediocre performance and pedestrian battery-life. XOLO plans to change that with the Black 1X which runs on a more proven MT6753 SoC, as opposed to Snapdragon 615 on the first generation.
But just like the original generation, the Black 1X also has a glass black but this time with leather accents at the top and bottom. The design might look gaudy to some, but the rounded top and bottom do have their own appeal. You have a dual hybrid-SIM setup here where the second SIM card slot can be used to expand storage. The 1X is a 4G LTE device and supports both TDD and FDD LTE network bands in India. There is a measly 2400 mAh non-removable battery on the Black 1X, which does seem a bit small given the higher resolution 1080p display. WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio also come standard.
The XOLO Black 1X has been priced at Rs. 9999 and will be exclusive to Snapdeal. It will be going on sale starting November 6th, registrations for the sale are now open. Its needless to say, but it comes in Black color only.
